DJ cypher's Dark Wave Lounge is central Michigan's only recurring dark music event. On the first Wednesday of each month, cypher and occasional guest DJs provide a mix of gothic, ambient, trip-hop, electronica, and experimental music.

The purpose of the Dark Wave Lounge is to expose those who attend to terrific underground music that does not receive radio or club play in central Michigan (or, for that matter, in most parts of the country). There is no expectation that those who attend will be familiar with the music played and DJs welcome inquiries about the music and are happy to make recommendations.

The event is free (although a voluntary contribution of $1 to support the event is hoped for from those who attend) and all ages. The only thing one needs to bring with him or her is an open mind.

The Dark Wave Lounge will be held at Fifi’s French Press (formerly Bizarre Bazaar) at 203 W. Broadway in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
